We went from the Florida trip right into the ear infection saga. Gavin had two previous ear infections (one in June and one in July) and the third one started at the beginning of August just before the trip to Florida. It lasted almost 6 weeks. Three antibiotics, a few pediatrician visits later and some cranky nights too, we found ourselves at the Ear Nose and Throat doctor. He needed tubes. He had tubes placed on Sept. 15 and things have been better. The surgery went very well…just hard on Mom and Dad. Gavin did wonderfully. Other than disrupting his nap and feeding schedule, he was great! It was a busy week though.
Gavin's Godparents, Jen and Guido, got married on Sept. 17 and we had some dressing up to do! He was decked out in his mini-tux and we were off to fight the flood waters of Hurricane Ivan. Pictures are fewer than planned due to the picture-plan going out the window on account of the hurricane flood waters in Pittsburgh the day of the wedding. Here is one of Gavin and his Grandpa Williams [Papa]. He looked so cute and really hung in there in the trip to the reception (40 miles from my house, 5 hours of traffic later after not making it to the wedding). :)
