In case you haven't heard our news, mostly because I have been trying to find time to write this email for two months now…we are expecting baby number three (BV3). The Vitale Family will grow to a family of five. We are expecting our bundle on February 21. I am half-way through as of tomorrow, 20 weeks! Time is flying. I figured I'd get word out now since I didn't want the birth announcement to be the first you've heard about this.
We are very excited, well maybe not Nora. She does not really grasp the concept of a new baby. Whenever we talk to her about the baby, she looks around and usually goes to get one her baby dolls. :) Very cute. Gavin is excited. He, from the beginning, declared that he wanted a baby brother. His reasoning was not what you might expect. He told me, "I already have a baby sister." We already have one of those…let's get something new. Well, Gavin's wish has come true. We are having a baby boy. We found out about two weeks ago. Baby had us guessing from an early ultrasound but we are sure now. There is a good ultrasound picture if you want to look (in the link).
Nora's birthday is Wednesday - October 10. She will be 2! She is very excited but doesn’t understand why today isn't her birthday if you bring it up. She has been singing "Happy Birthday" to herself for awhile. I have to say that was the fastest two years of my life. She is amazing though. She is tough and a brute, dominate, stubborn, sleepy head in the morning, non-stop during the day, she plays hard and LOVES to disassemble, take apart or destroy most anything but she is also very sensitive and emotional. You can break her heart easily. She is growing like a weed (37.75 lbs and about 36") and her hair has been cut a number of times. She has tiny feet and she can't seem to cut teeth. She has been fighting to get her last four baby teeth for a month or better with no luck and very little break. By the time that is over, we will be on to two year molars. She speaks very well, pretty clearly most of the time and LOVES to sing. Her favorite song is either "You are my Sunshine" or "Wheels on the Bus". Very vocabulary is amazing. I'm sure the older brother has influence over that. She knows lots of animals, counts to thirteen (tirt-teen) and even her basic colors. It is sometimes hard to remember that she will only be two (size, bravery (lack or fear) and vocabulary) but she reminds you. Someone must have recently told her that she is going to be 2…

However, we sang to her on video the other night and she was less than pleased, we'll see how she does this week and then for her party this weekend.

Gavin started nursery school about a month ago. I cannot believe that we have already hit the "school" milestone mark. He loves it though. He likes the new kids in his class and loves the teacher. He is attending nursery school where they go to daycare but there are a few kids that are nursery school only. In fact, he goes to nursery school only on Thursdays. This has been an adjustment in our family for sure. Nora and I take Gavin to school on Thursday (9-11:30) and we have the majority of the morning to ourselves. We have been shopping and going to the park. It is working out well. The transition has actually been harder on her than him. She misses him on Thursdays...Mommy doesn't cut it!
Gavin has been growing up faster than I can keep up. He is very aware of what Nora is up to and they are perfecting the art of sibling rivalry. She took…He did… His responses are normally retaliation and Nora's response is to scream. That use to ward him off a little but it doesn't really do anything now other than elevate the noise level further.
So, one last thing…Go Tribe! We still believe in the Cleveland Indians despite the loss last night!
