Happy First Birthday Nora!! October 10 came and went and Nora Eileen Vitale is one year old!
We could not have asked for a nicer day to host 11 children, including mine, under five years old for a first birthday party. The weather was fabulous. We had Nora's party two weekends ago and it was sunny, hot and not a cloud in the sky and 75 degrees. All the kids, including mine, kept changing clothes. Jackets were coming off, put some shorts on and we enjoyed the last warm days of autumn. Indian summer I guess. Gavin started out in pants and long sleeves and ended up in shorts and a t-shirt. Nora had her pretty flowered birthday dress on and she eventually changed into a sundress after her cake extravaganza. Any which weather God bless the beautiful weather and all the fun in the sun in the yard and driveway instead of my living room. Gavin had 5 other boys and 2 little girls to play with that were his ~age. It was a blast.

Nora decided to cut her fourth tooth on party day so she ended up napping for the first part of the party but we all ate and played and then she was very happy to dive into her cake after her nap. All was going well and she was loving her cake until she decided to try and remove icing from her long eyelashes (not sure how the tiny piece got there) and so she rubbed her eyes with her fist full of icing. It was all over then and we went straight to bath. She got cleaned up and then played the remainder of the afternoon.
